Day 1

Hyderabad city is known for its rich history, food and its multi-lingual culture. Occupying 650 square kilometers (250 sq. mi) along the banks of the Musi River, it has a population of about 6.7 million and a metropolitan population of about 7.75 million, making it the fourth most populous city and sixth most populous urban agglomeration in India.

From biryani to historic structures, Hyderabad is an attractive city in several ways. The historical backdrop of this city can be followed through the tombs of its rulers, aristocrats and holy people. On this tour you will hear the stories of Hyderabad’s rich and cultural past. Hyderabad city was home to one of the wealthiest persons in the world, Mir Osman Ali Khan, the last governing Nizam of Hyderabad.

We visit the Hindu Famous temple Birla Mandir. The temple manifests a blend of  Dravidian,  Rajasthani and  Utkala architectures. It is constructed of 2000 tons of pure white marble.

10:00 AM-10:30 AM – Purani Haveli

Visit Purani Haveli. It was the official residence of the Nizam. It was also known as Haveli Khadeem, which means old mansion. The main building is a symbol of 18th century European architecture. Sikander Jha lived here for some time and later shifted to Khilwat Mahal. Due to this, these buildings are called Purani Haveli.

Cyberabad, Photo stop

Before you experience the old much talked about Hyderabad, will take you thru the new developing Hyderabad which is almost 17kms away from Old city. Most commonly called as “Cyberabad” and Hi Tech City. It’s a new world developed by IT companies. Here you would experience the sky-high building, the modernity.

12:30 PM – 01:30 PM – Shilparamam

A place of the old world innocence and simplicity combined with the highly talented craftsmanship of traditional Telugu culture as well as other cultures of India. Shilparamam Cultural Society in Hyderabad is keeping the antiquity of Indian heritage alive in the midst of its modern changes. Thatched roof complexes, sparkling waterfalls, terracotta horses at the gate, statues dressed in traditional attires in rustic surroundings–it is a trip that showcases the traditional way of Indian life.

Explore the wedding Emporiums. Hyderabad has got some age-old retailers who’ve through all these years kept up with the latest fashions and selling some amazing traditional Indian wear, anarkalis being among them. The city has now become the second-best in the country (after Chennai, which is) for bridal Kanjeevaram pattu sarees with a whole lot of stores, some new and some old spread throughout. Our guide will suggest you some of the renowned stores to shop for these silks.

Hussain Sagar Lake is one of the largest Man Made Lake in Asia. There are boats available which take you to the “ROCK OF GIBRALTER” where Lord Buddha statue is placed. . An 18-meter high monolithic statue of Lord Buddha towers over the lake from atop the Rock of Gibraltar. This boulevard is complete with beautiful lawns, restaurants, recreational facilities and good views of the city of Hyderabad.

After breakfast our tour starts. On the way to Charminar pass by the Assembly Building. It is the first Legislative assembly that came into being on 1st March 1952 in the old state of Hyderabad. Next is The Mozamjahi Market for it old shops, Osmania Hospital which is one of a kind Building and then the High Court. You may have short photo stop in these places to capture the beauty of these century old buildings.

10:00 AM – 10:30 AM Hi Tea

10:30 AM – 11:00 AM – Charminar

The Charminar, constructed in 1591 CE, is a monument and mosque located in Hyderabad. In English language, Charminar means four towers.

As we all know Hyderabad is a city famous for tourism, the Charminar is considered to be a famous landmark here. When you see the Charminar, you will be able to understand the fact that there are 4 minarets attached and supported by 4 grand arches. It should be noted that Charminar is not only the global icon of Hyderabad but is the most recognized structures of our country too. In the evening, with illumination, Charminar looks even greater. With the passage of time the Charminar occupied so much importance that it became the heart of all bustling activities in the capital. It is in the bustling bazaars around the Charminar that you find the famous traditional nahari stalls and kulchas of Hyderabad.

11:00 AM – 11:30 AM – Mecca Masjid & Jama Masjid

Photo stop at Mecca Masjid and Jama Masjid. Know the history of the oldest and biggest Mosque in the city.

The atmosphere inside the mosque is very peaceful and serene and therefore, one can offer their prayers in solitude amidst a holy environment. Amazed to see the elegant designs carved on the arches and the Quran’s Verses etched on the walls of the mosque.

11:30 AM – 12:00 PM – Laad Bazaar

We start the walking tour of Laad Bazaar. You may shop for the specialties of Hyderabad here. Laad Bazaar is the main market for bangles, semi-precious stones, pearls, Jewellery, products such as silverware, Nirmal, Kalamari paintings, bidriware, lacquer bangles studded with stones, saris and hand-woven materials of silk, cotton. Brocade, velvet and gold embroidered fabrics, traditional Khara Dupattas, lacquer bangles and perfumes.

12:30 PM – 01:30 PM – Chowmahallah palace

India has many palaces which were built by some of the great ancient rulers. Chowmahalla is one such palace which remains as a masterpiece. The design and the features of this palace is marvelous and even the modern buildings built with modern technology cannot compete with the beauty and charm of these palace.

This palace still stands as symbols which represent the culture and skills of our ancestors. Chowmahalla Palace, were the rulers of the Hyderabad state (Nizam’s) lived, was under the flag of Asaf Jahi dynasty. All the major ceremonies during the reign of the Nizam’s were conducted in this palace. At present the palace is owned by a member of the Nizam’s lineage named as Barkat Ali Khan Mukkaram Jah.

Collection of antiques items is something many of us have indulged in. But collecting artifacts from across the globe will just seem like a dream. One man who managed to fulfill his dream was Nawab Mir Yousuf Khan, popularly known as Salar Jung III. The Salar Jung Museum is a testament of his passion for arts and antiques. Located in Hyderabad, this museum is known to be the largest one-man collection being one of its kind in the world and serves as a paradise for the connoisseurs of arts.

The Golconda Fort used to have a vault where once the famous Koh-I-Noor and Hope diamonds among others were stored.

The Fort, originally built by the Kakatiya Rulers, has amazingly advanced acoustics systems that were used for signaling approaching enemy as well as for detecting conspiracies being hatched in palace corners! The Fort also is unique in the usage of natural boulders (that date back to a billion years), distinctive of the Deccan plateau, as foundation stones for the structure. This detour will trace the history of the Qutub Shahi dynasty which ruled Hyderabad between 1518 and 1687 AD.

The fort has Sound & Light show in the evening in English; Hindi language includes the stories of the rulers of this dynasty with a special emphasis on the love story between Mohd Quli Qutub Shah and Baghmati. You will also hear the story of Aurangzeb’s long and frustrating siege of the Golconda Fort.

  • Prior to 21 days or more: Non-refundable deposit of 25% of holiday cost per person or as advised at the time of booking.
  • Between 20 – 11 days of departure: Non-refundable deposit of 50% of holiday cost per person  or as advised at the time of booking.
  • Between 11 – 0 days of departure: 100% of the package cost per person  or as advised at the time of booking.
