Hyderabad had a humble beginning in a mud fortress built by the Kakatiyas of Warangal on the hill of Golconda, in the 11th century AD. In the 14th century, Golconda went to the Bahamani kings. From the 15th century onwards, till the time the province was surrendered to the British Empire, this city was under the rule of different Muslim kingdoms. The city was brought into the Indian union after the country’s independence in 1956. It became the capital of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, now Telangana.

The strong influence of Muslim culture and civilization is visible in the city’s beautiful mosques, minarets and gardens. The city is also famous for its cuisine, handicrafts, textiles, gems and jewellery. Hyderabad is also called as city of Pearls.

Visit Birla Mandir. The temple manifests a blend of  Dravidian,  Rajasthani and  Utkala architectures. It is constructed of 2000 tons of pure white marble.

10:00 AM-10:30 AM – Purani Haveli

Visit Purani Haveli. It was the official residence of the Nizam. It was also known as Haveli Khadeem, which means old mansion. The main building is a symbol of 18th-century European architecture. Sikander Jha lived here for some time and later shifted to Khilwat Mahal. Due to this, these buildings are called Purani Haveli.

Before you experience the old much talked about Hyderabad, we will take you through the new developing Hyderabad which is almost 17kms away from Old city. Most commonly called as “Cyberabad” and Hi-Tech City. It’s a new world developed by IT companies. Here you will experience the sky-high buildings and modernity.

12:30 PM – 01:30 PM – Shilparamam

This arts and crafts village is in Madhapur which is the IT hub of Hyderabad. It has been set up to encourage artisans and to provide a marketing outlet for their works. Shilparamam hosts annual bazaars much like Delhi’s famous Dilli Haat. Artists and artisans from all over the country congregate here, encouraging the customers to interact directly with the craftspeople.

Explore the wedding emporiums. Hyderabad has got some age-old retailers who’ve all through these years kept up with the latest fashions and sell some amazing traditional Indian wear, with anarkalis being among them. The city has now become the second-best in the country (after Chennai, which is) for the bridal Kanjeevaram pattu sarees with a whole lot of stores, some new and some old spread throughout. Our guide will suggest you some of the renowned stores to shop for these silks.

Hussain Sagar Lake is one of the largest Man Made Lake in Asia. There are boats available which take you to the “ROCK OF GIBRALTER” where Lord Buddha statue is placed. An 18-meter high monolithic statue of Lord Buddha towers over the lake from atop the Rock of Gibralter. This boulevard is complete with beautiful lawns, restaurants, recreational facilities and good views of the city of Hyderabad.

After breakfast our tour starts. On the way to Charminar we pass by the Assembly Building. It is the first Legislative Assembly that came into being on 1st March 1952 in the old state of Hyderabad. Next to it is The Mozamjahi Market for its old shops, Osmania Hospital, which is one of a kind building and then the High Court. You may have short photo stop in these places to capture the beauty of these century old buildings.

10:30 AM – 11:00 AM – Charminar

The four minarets of the Charminar dominate the landscape of the Hyderabad. The minarets, their domed finials rising from their lotus-leaves cushion, rise high from the ground. The whole structure of Charminar contains various small and ornamental arches arranged in vertical and horizontal fashion. The cornice on the first floor upholds a series of six arches and capitals on each portico, rising to the double-story gallery of the minarets of Charminar. The projected canopy, decorative brackets and decoration in stucco plaster add graceful elegance to the Charminar. On the upper courtyard, a screen of arches topped by a row of square fences provide a delicate charm to the muscular look of the Charminar.

11:00 AM – 11:30 AM – Mecca Masjid & Jama Masjid

Photo stop at Mecca Masjid and Jama Masjid. Know the history of the oldest and biggest Mosque in the city.

Mecca Masjid: The atmosphere inside the mosque is very peaceful and serene and therefore, one can offer their prayers in solitude amidst a holy environment. You will be amazed to see the elegant designs carved on the arches and the Quran’s Verses etched on the walls of the mosque.

We start the walking tour of Laad Bazaar. You may shop for the specialties of Hyderabad here. Laad Bazaar is the main market for bangles, semi-precious stones, pearls, jewellery, products such as silverware, Nirmal, Kalamari paintings, bidriware, lacquer bangles studded with stones, saris and hand-woven materials of silk, cotton, brocade, velvet and gold embroidered fabrics, traditional Khara Dupattas, lacquer bangles and perfumes.

India has many palaces which were built by some of the great ancient rulers. Chowmahalla is one such palace which remains as a masterpiece. The design and the features of this palace are marvelous and even the modern buildings built with modern technology cannot compete with the beauty and charm of these palace.

This palace stands as a symbol which represents the culture and skills of our ancestors. Chowmahalla Palace, where the rulers of the state (Nizams) lived, was under the flag of Asaf Jahi dynasty. All the major ceremonies during the reign of the Nizams were conducted in this palace. At present the palace is owned by a member of the Nizam’s lineage named as Barkat Ali Khan Mukkaram Jah.

The Salar Jung Museum of Hyderabad is a repository of the artistic achievements of diverse European, Asian and Far Eastern countries of the world. The major portion of this collection was acquired by Nawab Mir Yousuf Ali Khan popularly known as Salar Jung III. The Salar Jung Museum houses the largest one-man collection of antiques in the world. It is well known throughout India for its prized collections belonging to different civilizations, dating back to the 1st century. A visit to the Pearl city of Hyderabad is definitely incomplete without a visit to this incredible museum!

Followed by a visit to the Golconda Fort with amazing Sound and light Show. The Golconda Fort used to have a vault where once the famous  Koh-I-Noor and  Hope  diamonds were stored along with other diamonds.

The Golconda Fort, originally built by the Kakatiya Rulers, has amazingly advanced acoustics systems that were used for signaling approaching enemy as well as for detecting conspiracies being hatched in palace corners. The Fort also is unique in the use of the natural boulders (that date back to a billion years), distinctive of the Deccan plateau, as foundation stones for the structure. This detour will trace the history of the Qutub Shahi dynasty which ruled Hyderabad between 1518 and 1687 AD. The narration will include stories of the rulers of this dynasty with a special emphasis on the love story between Mohd Quli Qutub Shah and Baghmati. You will hear the story of Aurangzeb’s long and frustrating siege of the Golconda Fort.
