Day 1

The city is one of the three most vital urban areas in southern India and holds a critical position on its visitor guide.

The city houses the most expensive residential real estate in Telangana like Banjara and Jubilee Hills and is also home to the Telugu Film Industry. Residents of Hyderabad are generally called Hyderabadis. Located at the crossroads of North and South India, Hyderabad has developed a unique culture that reflects in its language and architecture. Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, was established in the year 1591 by Mohammed Quli Qutub Shah. The city offers a captivating scene of the past and one can see all 425years of lavishly blended social and verifiable convention.

09:00 AM – 09:45 AM – On route to Chowmahalla palace

After breakfast our tour starts. On the way to Chowmahalla Palace, we pass by the Assembly Building. It is the first Legislative Assembly that came into being on 1st March 1952 in the old state of Hyderabad. Next to it is The Mozamjahi Market, famous for its old shops, Osmania Hospital, which is one of a kind building, and then the High Court. You may have short photo stop in these places to capture the beauty of these century old buildings.

10:00 AM – 11:15 AM – Chowmahalla palace

Once regarded as the center of Hyderabad, the magnificent Chowmahalla Palace was the seat of the Asaf Jahi dynasty where the Nizams entertained their official visitors and Royal guests. Built over 200 years ago, Chowmahalla is renowned for its unique style and elegance. A synthesis of many architectural styles and influences, the Palace Complex has been meticulously restored.

11:30 AM – 12:00 PM – Tea

12:00 PM – 1:00 PM – Charminar

The four minarets of the Charminar dominate the landscape of the Hyderabad. The minarets, their domed finials rising from their lotus-leaves cushion, rise high from the ground. The whole structure of Charminar contains various small and ornamental arches arranged in vertical and horizontal fashion. The cornice on the first floor upholds a series of six arches and capitals on each portico, rising to the double-story gallery of the minarets of Charminar. The projected canopy, decorative brackets and decoration in stucco plaster add graceful elegance to the Charminar. On the upper courtyard, a screen of arches topped by a row of square jails provides a delicate charm to the muscular look of the Charminar.

This Charminar was built in the year 1591 AD by Sultan Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, who was the fifth ruler of the Qutb Shahi dynasty. The Charminar is situated right in the heart of the city in between a busy market and thus is a huge attraction for the tourists.

After the tea we start the walking tour of Laad Bazaar. You may shop for the specialties of Hyderabad here. Laad Bazaar is the main market for bangles,  semi-precious stones,  pearls, jewellery, products such as silverware, Nirmal,  Kalamkari paintings,  Bidriware,  lacquer bangles studded with stones, saris and hand-woven materials of silk, cotton, brocade, velvet and  gold embroidered fabrics, traditional  Khara Dupattas, lacquer bangles and perfumes.

05:00 PM – 08:00 PM – Golconda Fort

The city of Hyderabad is famous for its breathtaking monuments. The majestic and imposing monument which lies on the Western outskirts of Hyderabad city .The Fort unravels with it the 425 years of the rich cultural heritage of this city.

“Shepherd’s Hill” or “Golla Konda”, as it was popularly known in Telugu, has an interesting story behind it. One fine day, on the rocky hill called Mangalavaram, a shepherd boy came across an idol. This was conveyed to the Kakatiya king, who was ruling at that time. The king got a mud fort constructed around the holy spot. Over a period of time this lowly construction was expanded by the Qutub Shahi kings into a massive fort of granite which has been a silent witness to many historic events. Every nook and corner of this splendid monument echoes the unparalleled history of a bygone era.

Visit Birla Mandir.  The temple manifests a blend of  Dravidian,  Rajasthani and  Utkala architectures. It is constructed of 2000 tons of pure white marble.

10:00 AM – 11:00 AM – Purani Haveli

Visit Purani Haveli. It was the official residence of the Nizam. It was also known as Haveli Khadeem, which means old mansion. The main building is a symbol of 18th century European architecture. Sikander Jha lived here for some time and later shifted to Khilwat Mahal. Due to this, these buildings are called Purani Haveli.

11:30 AM – 01:00 PM – Salar Jung Museum

Established in the year 1951 at the resident palace of Salarjung III, the museum was inaugurated by Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru. The Government of India took over the museum in 1958 and in 1961, the museum was declared to be of National Importance. It houses a wide collection of antiques with around 43,000 art objects, 47,000 books and 9,000 manuscripts from different parts of the world. Some of the artifacts are even centuries old.

A visual delight is the musical clock Salar Jung bought from Cook and Kelvey of England. Every hour, a timekeeper emerges from the upper deck of the clock to strike a gong as many times as it is the hours of the day. It is something not to give a miss while in the museum.

03:30 PM – 05:00 PM – Shilparamam

Shilparamam recreates the setting of an Indian village, with 15 life-sized huts exhibiting the life of artisans. It houses numerous stalls selling textiles and handicrafts from Telangana and other parts of India. Other attractions include food courts, an art gallery, a rock museum, a sculpture park and boating in a lake surrounded by plantations. It also hosts a vibrant night bazaar called Ship Sandhya Vedika with stalls of food and clothes.

Hussain Sagar Lake is one of the largest Man Made Lakes in Asia. There are boats available which take you to the “ROCK OF GIBRALTER” where Lord Buddha statue is placed.

An 18-meter high monolithic statue of Lord Buddha towers over the lake from atop the Rock of Gibralter. This boulevard is complete with beautiful lawns, restaurants, recreational facilities and good views of the city of Hyderabad.

Warangal Fort belongs to the 13th century when it was constructed by King Ganapati Deva. The fort with exquisite carved pillars and arches was intended to be his second capital. The fort houses a temple, which is dedicated to Swayambhudevi, (Mother Earth). The fort being invincible was called the seat of power. The entrance of the fort is built in south Indian architectural style. The fort is in ruins but still provides room for interesting study that aids in research of ancient history and sculptures

02:45 PM – 03:30 PM – Thousand Pillar Temple

Orugallu, old name of Warangal. ‘Oru’ means one and ‘Kallu’ means stone. The entire city was carved from a single rock, hence the name Orukallu, which means ‘one rock’. The city was also called Ekasila nagaram. The largest city of the State, 148 kms away from Hyderabad, the capital of the state.

It was the capital of a Hindu Shaivite kingdom ruled by the Kakatiya dynasty from the 12th to the 14th century. Thousand pillar Temple belongs to the 12th century. It is located near the Hanamkonda-Warangal highway. The construction displays the influence of the Kakatiya architectural style. There are three shrines inside the temple called the Trikutalayam, dedicated to three gods, Shiva, Vishnu, and Surya. The temple is surrounded by a big garden in which many small lingam shrines can be seen. There is a carving of a Nandi Bull in the form of a highly polished black basalt monolith.

03:45 PM – 04:30 PM – Bhadrakali Temple

Bhadrakali temple belongs to the 8th century and is among the oldest temples constructed for goddess Bhadrakali. The idol of Goddess Kali is enshrined in this temple, which is situated on a hill. The ancient temple was built during the reign of Kakatiya Dynasty. The construction bears the influence of Chalukya architectural style. The rock formations that were naturally formed around the temple make the place more serene.

  • Between 20 – 11 days of departure: Non-refundable deposit of 50% of holiday cost per person  or as advised at the time of booking.
  • Between 11 – 0 days of departure: 100% of the package cost per person  or as advised at the time of booking.
